GEcel: Civic Education and Learning for Gender Mainstreaming – Transnational cooperation projects, EU-Programme SOCRATES, Act. Grundtvig 1 |

A team of seven partner organisations from five countries has been working together - coordinated by bpb, supported by the European Commission - since October 2003 in the framework of an international cooperation project in Grundtvig 1. The end of the project 's running time was January 31, 2006.
The results of that intensive work is presented here. Please find below apart from the projectteam's newsletters above all the handbook "Examples of Good Practice in Training - Highlights and Pitfalls" in five different languages. Please feel free to make use of it. The projectteam would be very happy if you could give some feedback on it by mail to schmitz@bpb.de on questions like
- Was it useful for you? In what way?
- What would be useful to have? What is missing?
- What experience have you made in implementing gender mainstremaing in your field of work?
- Have you distributed this handbook anywhere? In what language?
- What is your experience in EU-funded projects that deal with gender mainstreaming?

Gender Mainstreaming
Ein integratives, gesamt-gesellschaftliches Konzept verbirgt sich hinter dem Begriff "Gender Mainstreaming". Der Ansatz befasst sich ausdrücklich mit den gesellschaftlichen Notwendigkeiten für Frauen und Männer und geht weit über das Konzept der Frauenförder- und Gleichstellungspolitik hinaus. |
