"Auschwitz today"

Auschwitz – the place that more than any other symbolises the horror of the Nazi extermination machine. The name of this town in the south of Poland stands for the murder of millions of Jews, Sinti, Roma and countless other individuals who, according to the Nazi race ideology, were not part of the "Volksgemeinschaft". To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, the award-winning agency for digital storytelling Bombay Flying Club was commissioned by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) to produce a multilingual web documentary based on a series of photographs by Martin Blume.
