"EU terror listing for Hizbollah wing" Wird die EU von ihrer bisherigen Haltung Abstand nehmen und die libanesische Hisbollah nun doch zu einer Terrororganisation erklären? Reuters berichtet, dass sich die Bundesregierung nach langer Ablehnung einer entsprechenden britischen Initiative anschließen wolle. "Germany, one of the most powerful EU countries, had previously said it wanted to see stronger evidence that Hizbollah was involved in the bombing in Bulgaria. 'In the light of discussions we have had with our partners following the terrorist attack in Burgas, the foreign minister, Guido Westerwelle, supports listing at least the military wing of Hizbollah as a terrorist organisation in the EU,' a German diplomatic source said. "The International Atomic Energy Agency’s latest quarterly update said Tehran had accelerated the installation of advanced uranium enrichment equipment at its central Natanz plant. It also outlined further progress at a reactor under construction at Arak, also in central Iran, which Western countries fear could provide Iran with plutonium if the fuel is reprocessed. (...) Highly enriched uranium and plutonium can both be used in a nuclear weapon. "Boko Haram has been fighting to create an Islamic state in Nigeria's mainly Muslim north since 2009. Hundreds of people have died in the conflict. The group has recently stepped up attacks on government installations and security forces and is understood to control substantial territory around Lake Chad, where local officials have fled.
