Exchange programme

Go Africa... Go Germany...

Since 2007 the Federal Agency for Civic Education has been granting talented students und young graduates from Africa and Germany scholarships, which enable them to take part in a high-ranking educational seminar in Africa and Germany.

Germany - South Africa

The last date of applications for Go Africa... Go Germany 2010/11 has expired and the process of selecting eligible candidates has already started. The scholarship holders will be notified in May as the Geman part of the programme will begin in August 2010.

Germany/Belgium - Ghana/Nigeria

For the third exchange in the "Go Africa... Go Germany..." series, a qualified group of 12 African and 12 German students has successfully completed "Go Africa... Go Germany 2009/10" in Germany, Belgium, Ghana, and Nigeria and enjoyed interesting excursions, discussed actual topics and met high-ranking personalities throughout the programme.

Germany/Belgium - Tanzania/Uganda

The "Go Africa... Go Germany 2008/09" programme led the German and East African participants to different settings in Germany, Brussels and East Africa. The range of topics that were discussed during lectures varied from historical, political, economic and social characteristics of the countries involved, namely Germany, Tanzania, Uganda and were enriched with excursions to historical sites, institutions and different organisations.

Germany - Namibia

In August 2007 the first generation of fellowship holders went on the journey through two continents. They were accompanied by a mosaic of different impressions and personalities which still help to constantly rethink the own perception of the other.

Go Africa... Go Germany...

The Foundation

As a continuation of the "Go Africa... Go Germany..." Programme, a foundation for German-African Youth Education is currently being established. With different projects the foundation will make a contribution to intercultural communication between the African and the German youth. More on the foundation soon...

JointMAG 11 - 07/2010

This summer issue is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of independence of many African states. What were the prospects 50 years ago, how is the situation today - and what does the future look like? Authors will present their assessments of the situation in Guinea, Senegal and Somalia. German-African Scholarship Exchange Programme

"Ke Nako", it is finally time! (World Cup motto 2010) - this was the aim of the exchange programme "Go Africa...Go Germany..." when it was launched back in 2007, and the same aim will be consistently pursued in 2010/11 as well, in what will be the programme’s 4th year.
