Who is eligible to apply? What documents must be submitted with the application? Here you can find all the necessary information for an application for the 2009 programme of Go Africa... Go Germany...
1. Who is eligible to apply?
Those eligible to apply from Germany are students and young graduates of German nationality who are either studying or have a degree in any of the following subjects (cf. also 3.):
- Political science
- Modern history
- International relations
- Economics
- Business administration
- Media and communication studies
- Cultural studies
- African studies
- Law
Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
The subjects applicants must be studying or have a degree in are listed above.
2. Is there an age limit applicants have to observe?
Yes, applicants should be between the age of 21 and 28 by the application deadline 1 March 2009 (closing data for applications).
3. Are only applicants who are studying or are completing a Master´s in these subjectsconsidered?
Students must have studied or be completing a Master´s in at least one of the subjects listed as a field of study above. Students studying a subject that corresponds to any of the subjects mentioned in item 1 are also eligible to apply, provided they furnish proof of the subject studied.
4. Are students who are currently studying abroad or graduates who are working abroadeligible to apply?
Yes they are.
5. What documents must be submitted with the application?
- An essay comprising a maximum of three A4 pages (approx. 6.000 characters) written in English
- A declaration stating that applicants wrote the essay themselves without any help from third parties
- A curriculum vitae in tabular form with one photograph
- A letter of motivation comprising no more than one A4 page
6. To what address must documents be sent?

7. What is the deadline for the submission of applications to the Federal Agency for CivicEducation
The deadline for applications is 1 March 2009.
8. Can students select the theme of their essay?
No, the theme of the essay must be selected from the proposed themes listed in the Call for papers. The questions on the relevant theme must also be answered.
