Dalia Bardauskiene
Chartered Architect Mrs. Dalia Bardauskiene, working as the Advisor to the Mayor of Vilnius for strategic planning and regional development, is a board member of the Knowledge Economy Forum and Knowledge economy cluster "Sunrise valley". Starting her professional carrier from the position of the chief architect of rural municipality she was working in the ministry of Environment, Vilnius municipality, Vilnius Old town renewal agency and as an Advisor to the Primer Minister for urban, regional development and integrated urban conservation.

Miroslav Baše
From 1951-56 Miroslav Baše studied architecture, urban design and urban planning at CTU (Czech Technical University) Faculty of Architecture in Prague for Master Degree. Most of his professional time (1966-1991) he worked in the State Institute for Restoration of Historic Monuments and Sites in Prague. Currently Professor Baše is teaching at CTU, Prague, Faculty of Architecture, department of urban planning and design. In 2002 Professor Baše became the vice-dean for science and research. And, through a long-term participation abroad he was involved in UNDP-regional planning in Pakistan (Karachi, 1973) and in Sri Lanka (Colombo 1976) as an urban planner.

Anna Caramondani
Anna Caramondani has studied Civil Engineering (B.Sc.Eng. First Class Honours) and Town Planning in University College London. She is currently the Director of the Consultancy Firm "A.L.A. Planning Partnership" which provides consultancy to the public and private sector in the fields of Town, Transport and Environmental Planning. Anna Caramondani also worked for around 22 years as a planning officer in the government of Cyprus. She retired early as a senior planning officer from the post of Director of the Larnaca town Planning Office which dealt with development control.

Dace Kalvane
Dace Kalvane won the 1st prize as co-author in the invited competition for the Olympic Velodrome in Beijing in 2003. Already in 1989 she started lecturing Architecture History at the Faculty of Architecture of Riga Technical University. In the meantime she became owner and director of the Architecture and Design company A´Plus/Schuermann Architects. For many years Dace Kalvane is developing ideas and organising international workshops for future development visions in cities like Riga and Jurmala. For the project of city regeneration between 1994 and 1999 she has participated in research and evaluation of Liepaja historical architectural and urban development. Since July 2002 Dace Kalvane is Secretary General of the Latvian Association of Architects.

Indrek Ranniku
After his graduation as Physical Geographer Indrek Ranniku became city ecologist at the Municipality of Pärnu. Today, in his function as Head of Urban Planning Service at the Municipality of Tartu he is preparing and coordinating master planning process, detail plans, ecological aspects of planning process.

Claudia Schwalfenberg
Claudia Schwalfenberg graduated with a Ph. D. degree at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University Münster in German Philology, Modern and Contemporary History, Media and Communication Studies. In her function as Advisor for public relations of the German Federal Chamber of Architects she is Director and Spokeswoman of the German Council for Building Culture.

Metka Sitar
Metka Sitar has studied architecture in Ljubljana and Copenhagen. She studied and finished her doctorate in Urban and Regional planning at the Technical University of Graz, Austria. From 1999 to 2001 she was Advisor to the government for spatial planning at the Ministry of Environmental and Spatial Planning in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Since 2000 she is ass. Professor of Building Design and Urban Planning at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Civil Engineering. Her research work related to the field of urban development. This year, she became vice-chairwoman of the European Research Programme "COST A26 - European city regions in an age of multi-level governance - reconciling competitiveness and social cohesion".

Štefan Šlachta
Projects and Plannings as the Lafranconi-Bridge in Bratislava, traffic planning of the new tram in Bratislava, the Technical Centre in Onitsha (Nigeria) have been performed by Štefan Šlachta. After his studies at the faculty of Architecture in Bratislava he started to lecture at the Academy of Graphic Arts of Bratislava. From 1994 to 2000 Professor Šlachta was Rector of the Academy of Graphic Arts. From 1998 to 2002 he was Representative of the Slovakian National Council and in 2003 he has been elected President of the Slovakian Architecture Association.

Conrad Thake
Dr Conrad Thake graduated in Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Malta. He completed his post-graduate studies with a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Architecture, from the University of California, at Berkeley, U.S.A. He has co-authored with Dr Quentin Hughes, the book "Malta – The Baroque Island" and has also participated in a number of international architectural design competitions. He is currently a member of the Planning Appeals Board and the Board of management of the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta.

Andor Wesselényi-Garay
Andor Wesselényi-Garay has successfully completed his studies in Architecture and Urban planning of the Technical University of Budapest before studying History of Arts. Currently he is doctorate student in the Faculty of Wood Structures. Long before, he started lecturing Residential design at the Technical university of Budapest, followed by seminars in Interieur Design at Krea-School for Interieur Design. This year, he became lecturer for History of Architecture at Ybl Miklós Technical University and for Urban Scienes at Corvinus University. Currently, he is Senior Editor of the architectural magazine Atrium.

Zbigniew K. Zuziak
Zbigniew K. Zuziak is currently Professor and Head of Section of Physical Planning and Environmental Protection at the Institute of City and Regional Design of the School of Architecture within the Cracow University of Technology. One of his most important plans was the development structure plan for the City of Krakow, Legnica and Cieszyn. For the Kazimierz Action Plan 1994, a European Union ECOS funded project, carried out by the cities of Krakow, Edinburgh & Berlin, he was given a special merit award. Since 1996 Zbigniew Zuziak is an expert for the Fundacio Mies Van der Rohe, Barcelona, awarding prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture.
