Cemile Giousouf
Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb)

Cemile Giousouf is Head of Operative Division und Deputy Director of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (German: Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung/ bpb) since January 2019. She coordinates and manages the content-related work and the planning processes in the various departments. Cemile Giousouf studied Political Science as well as Sociology and Islamic Studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. From 2008 to 2013 she worked as a program manager for the administration of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2013 she became the first member of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group of Muslim faith in the national parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundestag). Before joining the bpb Ms. Giousouf worked at the State Agency for Civic Education North Rhine-Westphalia (German: Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Nordrhein-Westfalen) since 2018.

Tobias Bütow
German Secretary General of the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ/DFJW)

Tobias Bütow, born 1978 in Magdeburg, has been appointed as the German Secretary General of the Franco-German Youth Office on 1 March 2019. The historian and political scientist worked for the Holocaust Memorial Yad VaShem in Jerusalem, Israel, and the OSCE in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In Berlin, he worked for Radio Eins Freiluftkino Friedrichshain, conducted international youth seminars at the House of the Wannsee Conference and developed exhibitions at the German Historical Museum. In 2010, the DAAD seconded him to the Europa-Institut CIFE in Nice, where he directed a European Studies course and the Mediterranean Program.

Among other things, he is a member of the Académie de Berlin, a board member of the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe, and a member of the advisory board of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO).

Florian Braun
Member of North Rhine-Westphalia's State Parliament

Florian Braun, born in Aachen 1989, is a member of the State Parliament North Rhine-Westphalia since 2017 and currently the chairman of committee for school and education, member of the executive board of the CDU parliamentary group and speaker of the parliamentary CDU members under 40. After his military service with the German Federal Armed Forces in 2008/2009, he studied Business Administration at the University of Cologne from 2009 to 2013. From 2013 until his election in 2017 he worked as Head of Public Affairs for the Association of Germany‘s Optical Fibre Access Industry.

From 2016 to 2020 he has been chairman of the youth organisation of CDU North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2012 he is vice chairman of the CDU Cologne and since 2022 vice chairman of the CDU in the Rhineland region. Since 2016 he is board member of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia.

He supervises several enterprises including the executive committee of broadcasting council WDR (public broadcasting, since 2021), the supervisory board of GEW Köln AG (holding company for energy and telecommunication, since 2020) and the supervisory board of NetCologne GmbH (telecommunication, since 2018).

Marie Chureau
climate and social justice activist

Marie is an activist for ecology and social justice. She got involved in 2019 during the youth climate strikes, with the "Youth for Climate France" movement, the French branch of Fridays For Future. Since then, she has been active in the media, and organizes and participates in marches and actions to take action for ecology and social justice.

The Darvish
artist

The Darvish, (IG: @thedarvishofficial) is a non-binary Syrian self taught dancer, cultural events and performance parties organizer. After immigrating to Berlin, Germany in 2016 Darvish started exploring more and more with gender identities and artistic expressions and more so, questioning the relationship between social boundaries and performance Art. They're the Co-author of "ZUGZWÄNGE" Anthology Book which handles the stories of a group of activists, refugees, artists, community changers and writers and their own life experiences, currently they are writing an inclusive educational children's story book.

Florian Staudt
DFJW / OFAJ

Florian Staudt holds a MA in European Studies from Sorbonne University in Paris. After work-related stays in Brussels, Washington D.C. and Buenos Aires, he worked as the director of the non-party association Europa-Union and of the Europe Direct Information Centre in Hamburg.

Currently, he is responsible for the area of civic youth education at the Franco-German Youth Office. The aim is to support political and democracy education in the numerous programs and projects of the FGYO in cooperation with its network of 8000 partners.

In addition, he is also a member of the European Commission's Team EUROPE DIRECT Speakers Pool. His field of expertise is the analysis of European policy and Franco-German relations.

Şeyda Kurt
journalist and author

Şeyda Kurt is a freelance journalist, columnist, book author, curator, moderator and speaker.

She writes and speaks about culture, philosophy, politics and left-wing feminism. As a freelance journalist, she works for various media such as Zeit Online and Deutschlandfunk Kultur as well as for different podcast formats, including as an editor for the award-winning Spotify Original Podcast “190220 – Ein Jahr nach Hanau” [190220 - A Year to Hanau] and as a host for the Spotify Original Podcast “Man lernt nie aus” [You never stop learning]. She is a regular presenter* and has worked as a curator for the Goethe-Institut and various cultural events, among others. Her non-fiction book and bestseller “Radikale Zärtlichkeit - Warum Liebe politisch ist (HarperCollins)” [Radical Tenderness - Why Love is Political] was publiFlorian Staudt holds a MA in European Studies from Sorbonne University in Paris. Vassili Golod
journalist

Vassili Golod has been reporting for ARD as a correspondent from Ukraine since 2022. Together with Jan Kawelke, he completed a programme traineeship at WDR; the two are founders and presenters of their joint podcast "Machiavelli - Rap & Politics". Vassili studied political science and history in Göttingen and Aberystwyth and reported for ARD from London, Moscow and Berlin, among other places. He also worked as an editor and Tagesschau reporter in the WDR newsroom.

Olha Horkavchuk
Manager for educational projects at CEASC Foundation

Olha Horkavchuk holds a Doctor of Social Sciences (Catholic University of Ruzomberk, Slovakia) and is a graduate of the professional programme "Manager of European Projects Management in the EU Financial Perspective 2014-2020" (University of Social Sciences, Poland). She is a manager of the educational projects in CEASC (Poland) and Head of the NGO “Women's InterAction”, the NGO “Business devepment foundation” and "Diia.Business Centre in Rivne."

Since 2015, Olha Horkavchuk has been studying in the fields of project management, facilitation and Sustainable Development Goals in cooperation with organizations from Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Slovakia. Since 2022, she has been implementing projects to support women and girls in Ukraine, as well as projects for young people and people with disabilities. The projects are supported by GIZ, the Netherlands Helsinki Committee, and the British Embassy. Furthermore, she took part in a training programme for youth leaders on countering bullying through theatre technologies in 2022 (Malta, Erasmus+).

Anna Mamedova
Rebuild Ukraine Ambassadors

Anna Mamedova is coming from Ukraine, but she has been living in the Netherlands for the past five years. She is a Rebuild Ukraine Ambassador, part of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) project titeld Rebuild Ukraine Lab. Together with twenty other young Europeans she produced the vision paper «Towards a Sustainable Reconstruction of Ukraine: Youth Perspectives from Europe». Her areas of specialty are international relations and Eastern Europe. She has experience with working on various projects connected to Ukraine, including co-finding a humanitarian NGO delivering aid to Ukraine, setting up a student association for the Adriatic-Baltic-Black-Azov seas region, and participating in the EYP Rebuild Ukraine Lab. The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a network of young Europeans for non-formal education, intercultural exchange, and active civic participation. The mission is to foster personal growth and empower the next generation of European youth.

Mathieu Lecorney
Rebuild Ukraine Ambassadors

Mathieu Lecorney is coming from France and is 22 years old. As a volunteer, he is a Rebuild Ukraine Ambassador, taking part in the preparation of a vision paper called «Towards a Sustainable Reconstruction of Ukraine: Youth Perspectives from Europe» together with twenty other young Europeans.

In his everyday life, he works for an organisation gathering small and medium enterprises coming from the energy sector. He is also committed as a volunteer in the French organisation of the European Youth Parliament.

The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a network of young Europeans for non-formal education, intercultural exchange, and active civic participation. The mission is to foster personal growth and empower the next generation of European youth.

Myriam Zekagh
European Alternatives

Myriam Zekagh is coordinator of the Youth Movement & Campaign Accelerator (YMCA), led by European Alternatives: she works with young activists throughout Europe to create a space of learning and practice around political activism, organising, and community building. Because she believes that decisions are made by those who show up, her focus is on supporting democratic participation, in any way possible.

Before that, she worked in international development in North and West Africa, supporting communities and activists in engaging with their local and national institutions.

Ilies Malfi
Green Ambassadors Trinational Exchange

Ilies Malfi, 23 years old, recently completed his master's degree in Business English. He is an active member of several local associations, as well as an esteemed member of the international organization 'Arc en Ciel NGO.' This affiliation has granted him the honor of participating in numerous youth exchange programs, profoundly influencing his character and shaped who he is today, providing him with the opportunity to train other young individuals and share with them the knowledge he has gained through these programs and the experiences he has lived.

Currently, he is working at a travel agency company for over a year, where he is holding the position of a multitask manager, specializing in sales management.
