Susanne Beer ist Doktorandin der Soziologie und Zeitgeschichte an der Universität Flensburg und an der École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris. Sie hat in Berlin und Toulouse Soziologie und Politikwissenschaften studiert und ihr Studium im Jahr 2007 mit einer Diplomarbeit über das utopische Denken in den Schriften von Theodor W. Adorno und Guy Debord abgeschlossen. Von 2008 bis 2011 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in dem Forschungsprojekt "Referenzrahmen des Helfens" am Kulturwissenschaftlichen Institut in Essen. Seit 2012 ist sie Stipendiatin der Pariser Stiftung "Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah". Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin, wo sie mit dem deutsch-französischen Forschungsinstitut Marc Bloch assoziiert ist. Ihre Doktorarbeit beschäftigt sich mit den Lebenswegen von Personen, die in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus Juden unterstützten und ihnen halfen, sich der Verhaftung und Deportation zu entziehen.
Susanne Beer is a PhD student in Sociology and Contemporary History at the University of Flensburg and at École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris. She studied Sociology and Political Science in Berlin and Toulouse and graduated in 2007 with a diploma thesis on utopian thinking in the writings of Theodor W. Adorno and Guy Debord. From 2008 to 2011 she was a research associate in the research project "Reference framework of helping" at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities in Essen. Since 2012 she has been a fellow at the Paris foundation "Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah". She lives and works in Berlin, where she is associated with the German-French research institute Marc Bloch. Her doctoral thesis is concerned with the lives of people who supported Jews in the National Socialist era and helped them to avoid imprisonment and deportation.
