Ayaan Hirsi Ali warnt in der aktuellen Titelgeschichte von "Newsweek" vor einem "Krieg gegen Christen" in der muslimischen Welt. "In recent years the violent oppression of Christian minorities has become the norm in Muslim- majority nations stretching from West Africa and the Middle East to South Asia and Oceania. (...) a fair-minded assessment of recent events and trends leads to the conclusion that the scale and severity of Islamophobia pales in comparison with the bloody Christophobia currently coursing through Muslim-majority nations from one end of the globe to the other. The conspiracy of silence surrounding this violent expression of religious intolerance has to stop. Nothing less than the fate of Christianity - and ultimately of all religious minorities - in the Islamic world is at stake."

Frankreichs Innenminister Claude Gueant hat vor den
anstehenden Präsidentschaftswahlen die Ansicht geäußert,
dass nicht alle Zivilisationen als gleichwertig anzusehen
seien. "Gueant has repeatedly linked immigration with crime
in France and last month said the delinquency rate among
immigrants was 'two to three times higher' than the
national average. Last April, he declared that an increase
in the number of Muslim faithful in France posed a
'problem'. He has also said that he wants to reduce the
number of legal immigrants entering France, including those
coming to work legally or to join their families. His
latest comments came as the FN's presidential candidate
Marine Le Pen is credited with about 20 per cent support in
opinion polls." |

Die "Südwest Presse" berichtet über den Vortrag "Islam in der modernen Welt" des Islambeauftragten der Württembergischen Landeskirche, Heinrich Georg Rothe, in Geislingen. "Die Bilder von den Demonstrationen auf dem Tahir-Platz in Kairo habe auch das Bild von Islam in Deutschland beeinflusst, sagte Rothe am Dienstagabend im Haus der Begegnung in Geislingen. 'Vorher konnten sich viele Menschen hier nicht vorstellen, dass Muslime so entschieden Freiheit und Demokratie einfordern.' Muslime und koptische Christen hätten auf dem Tahir-Platz friedlich und diszipliniert Seite an Seite demonstriert und sich gegenseitig gegen Anfeindungen in Schutz genommen. Leider sei es nicht bei diesen friedlichen Bildern geblieben." |
