About the reflection sessions

The moderated reflection sessions are designed to facilitate in-depth exploration and reflection on key questions and discussion points raised during the keynote speech and panel discussion.

  1. This reflection session offers the opportunity for a more in-depth examination of Emergency Response Rooms and other forms of mutual aid and solidarity structures in Sudan. It will focus on issues of memory, gender, community health and local self-organisation, as well as the tension between community-based support and institutionalised humanitarian aid.
As part of the discussion session, the short film “Matlooga” by Samah Khalaf Allah, which explores the theme of feminist, revolutionary memory, will be screened.
    Moderator: Samah Khalaf Allah

  2. This discussion session is dedicated to the political and structural conditions of institutionalised humanitarian aid. It will focus on questions concerning power relations, international aid structures and solidarity-based approaches, as well as their potential and limitations in current conflict contexts.
    Moderator: Radwa Khaled Ibrahim

  3. This discussion session examines transnational solidarity-based support practices that go beyond state and institutionalised aid. Drawing on experiences from civilian sea rescue and other self-organised initiatives, the discussion will explore the opportunities, limitations and political tensions associated with such forms of direct support.
    Moderator: Luna Ali
