Who can take part in the HistoryCampus Berlin?
All young people between the ages of 18 and 25 with an interest in the subject are invited to the HistoryCampus who would like creatively reflect on the influence, consequences and significance of the First World War. The condition of entry is that your place of residence is one of the participating countries:
Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City
You should additionally be prepared to interact with certain aspects of the subject matter leading up to the festival.
Do I have to prepare myself or bring something special with me?
It is possible that when you participate in certain workshops you will be requested in advance by the workshop managers to do some research at your home location, to participate online or to bring something special with you. But you will be informed of this in good time.
What will it cost to participate in the HistoryCampus?
If you are selected as a participant the event organisers shall bear the costs of the travel there, accommodation and on-site catering in accordance with the general terms and conditions. Participants from Germany travel with a special Deutsche Bahn ticket (2nd class) to Berlin, the most economic means of travel will be calculated for participants from abroad. You will be accommodated in separate sex shared rooms in a hostel near the campus and you will be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner on the campus site. If required you will be provided with a public transport ticket to ensure you are mobile within Berlin.
The costs of participating in campus activities shall be free of charge if not expressly otherwise stated.
The costs of taking part in leisure time activities outside of the campus and separate travel there, accommodation, catering etc. which were not covered by the general terms and conditions and organised or authorised by the festival management cannot be assumed by organisers.
Is access to the campus barrier-free?
We make every effort to ensure access is barrier-free. However, due to the fact that very old building parts form part of the campus it is impossible to guarantee barrier-free access everywhere. There are also some obstacles during the journey here. So if you are not fully mobile please
