Competition of ideas for New NECE - Networking European Citizenship Education Apply Now!

/ 2 Minuten zu lesen

Last year, the NECE platform (Networking European Citizenship Education) celebrated its 18th anniversary and discussed the future of citizenship education at its international conference in Brussels. True to the project’s DNA, the conference brought together theory and practice of CE, and, as every year, new forms of cooperation, networking and sustainable collaboration emerged. All are united by their implementation of good quality citizenship education on a European basis. New actors and approaches are an essential part of a growing network, as shown by the series of events “NECE Campus” that took place in the run-up to the conference.

Now, a new era is set to begin where the project will no longer be managed by the Federal Agency for Civic Education. Instead, it is to be financially supported by the BpB but led and coordinated by an association or NGO. Here is how this change will happen: As part of a competition of ideas, organisations that meet certain requirements are to be given the opportunity to take on NECE for three years. As the recipients of a grant from the BpB, they can implement the project in a new and innovative way. The tried and tested formats of an annual conference and the NECE Campus are to be retained. A technical jury will evaluate all applications received, enabling the successful applicant to receive an annual grant of € 500,000 max.

Participation conditions, a catalogue of questions which serves as the structure for the application and the evaluation criteria can be found in the attachments below. Applications should be based on the catalogue of questions (2,500 words max.) and must be submitted per e-mail to E-Mail Link: new-nece@bpb.de by 5 September 2022.

The project will be transferred once the winner has been announced and the grant has been successfully applied for based on the funding guidelines of the Federal Agency for Civic Education.

We look forward to receiving your application!
