The fast spread of Web 2.0 along with the increased use of social media formats has created numerous new forms of political participation and of civic engagement. The effects of these developments on politics and the society currently cause several controversies, also in the field of citizenship education. The workshop in Brno aimed at identifying the specific interactions of Web 2.0 and citizenship education.
